3. When was the last time you were truly relaxed? What helps you with that?
What (sometimes) helps:
Going for a run. When I feel trapped in my head, I have to get out and go for a run. The act of running clears my mind and brings me true relaxation. I also gain self-confidence through running. I can see that I’m making progress and can run further each time.
Writing is also immensely helpful for me, mainly for my blog. I exposed myself in my blog and told the world about my depression. It was incredibly scary but also incredibly liberating. When I started my blog, I was so angry. Angry about the taboo surrounding depression. Angry that we try to be so ‘perfect’ and only focus on achieving. Angry that no one talks about their vulnerabilities. I thought at that moment, if no one talks about this, then I will! And that’s how Loop Depressievrij was born. That the blog would become such a success or kickstart my journalism career, well, I couldn’t have dared to dream that.
The Fresh Mind Walking Route:
How to maintain mental health?
This walking route combines three things that have helped our experts:
Movement: Walk from sign to sign in the city garden of Natuurtalent.
Conversation: Have you ever asked the question on the sign to your surroundings?
Recognition: Look, read, and listen to personal stories. Is there a story you can relate to?
Share your walk on social media with #wandelmetallesgoed and tag @allesgoedorg, @zorgvrijstaat , and @GroeneConnectie for a chance to win the Alles Goed card game.
